May They Never Be Deemed Low skilled again – Craig Oldham
In February 2020, Home Secretary, Priti Patel, labelled any person earning under £25k per year ‘Low Skilled’ or ‘Unskilled’. Only one month later, struggling with the COVID-19 crisis, that same government labelled them ‘Key Workers’, realising just how important they really are. These workers haven’t just become key to society, they always have, and will continue to be, Key Workers. And long may that term live on.
Occupations based on average UK salary, or average UK salary at entry level for respective professions, but also contains others labelled ‘Key’ during the coronavirus response. List is generalised and not specific to all sectors—there are many more Key Workers than listed!
Postcard designed by Craig Oldham who was also involved in the production of the Leeds Postcards book. He is a very talented designer who has produced some amazing work – Check him out.
