It’s A Man’s World – Simone De Beauvoir
This has always been a man’s world, and none of the reasons offered have been adequate.
Simone de Beauvoir gets so misunderstood and misused, so it’s time to clarify her main stance. This quote from The Second Sex questions why men are treated as the first sex in society and women are relegated to a secondary role. Her revelations of the effects of the patriarchy on women were unflinching and never sweetened by sentiment. Sadly, it is still relevant.
