Blackbird – Richard Allen
The blackbird is sat in a Blackthorn tree surrounded by Sloe Berries. Sloe berries steeped in gin make the wonderful Sloe Gin.
Richard Allen lives in Essex, where estuaries and marshes teeming with waders and wildfowl inspire him on his early morning dog walks. He is attracted to birds with bold plumage such as Avocets and Puffins, and the patterns in water, mud and sky, as well as the smaller garden birds. This is reflected in his dynamic linocuts and watercolours
